Cool Make Money Online Wordpress Theme

250x250-make-money-fireHey – I know I’m a little far behind on the series of posts that I was to present – I haven’t forgotten… so why have I not posted? Well, it goes like this. I have oodles of domains that I bought years ago with the intention of doing something with them.  But haven’t.  Some are new, but most are 6+ years old!  They range in areas such as:

  • Catering
  • Fitness
  • Health
  • Travel
  • Green Initiatives
  • Dating
  • Classifieds
  • Marriage and Wedding Planning

So I thought of getting off my ass and doing something about them.

First thing was to find a good, attractive and (free) theme.  I mean, I’ve already spent a fortune on these domains ($400/year for the lat 7 years) and I should either do something with them or let them expire.  But I think that they are good names, so don’t want to do that and decided to do something with them.

So I started to develop my travel themed sites and within 3-days have managed to attract search engines and am getting ranked for some great keywords.

I’m also looking at putting up my dating website (yet again) for one of my dating domains – the nice part, I don’t have to do anything other than promote it as there are several white label dating platforms out there and I’ve narrowed my choices down to 2 that look very good (more on that once it’s up and running).

So I’ve been pretty busy and have neglected a few of my blogs.

So back to the theme.

I found this great cool make money online theme called Flexability and you know what.  It’s FREE.

Now FREE is usually crap, but this theme is GREAT!  You can control virtually EVERY part of the template.  The options are extensive, to the point that it has built-in ADSENSE!  This is a good theme, I’m using the theme on my travel related blogs.  The them looks sharp and professional, honestly for the price (FREE) you CANNOT beat this make money online theme.  I HIGHLY recommend it.

These guys also produce another theme that will cost you a bit of money (but if Flexibility is any indication of what the theme can do) it’s WORTH IT!  In fact it’s one of the only themes that I’ve seen where you can run skins on it!  So one them and dozens of different skins – making the theme extremly extensible.

They have several “versions” of the theme available as well:

  1. FlexSqueeze Single Use Version (only for one site)
  2. FlexSqueeze Multi Use Version (for as many sites as you wish)
  3. FlexSqueeze Developers Version (more expensive – but it is the developers version)

They also give you over $500.00 worth of vector graphics – and no there are NOT your typicall, run-of-the-mill crappy graphics you see floating out there.  These are very high quality images – 250 of them!

vector-box-150pxAND if you purchase their SqueezePage Vector package at the same time, you can save yourself $20.00 off of the full-price of the Vector Package.  This package really is nice and the quality is that of the FREE graphics they provide with the FlexSqueeze theme.

The SqueezePage Vector package is the Ultimate Squeeze Page Vector Pack that will allow you to take your sales pages to the next level with professional vector artwork.

Seriously if you are tired of seeing same sales page graphics over and over again and have been burned on E-bay from other graphics packs that gave you 10 good images and a bunch of filler then you must look at the SqueezePage Vector.

The image below doesn’t do justice to the quality of the images provided…

If you’ve ever looked for a good WordPress make money online theme and vector graphics package – then look no further.

I was able to put up my travel blog within 2 hours LOADED with articles and news feeds using the free version of the theme.  Can you imagine what you will be able to do if you purchase the FlexSqueeze Theme?

To see a real live site using FlexSqueeze/Flexability Theme check out ReviewAzon (which incidentally is one of the best plug-ins out there to add Amazon reviews to your blog – I am planning on purchasing this for one of my niche blogs).

Enjoy!

Understanding Search Engine Optimization

seo-search-engine-optimizationSEO – the holy grail.  Something that’s so difficult to accomplish that only a select few can do it and they charge tens of thousands of dollars to optimize your site.

Wrong.

SEO is not mysterious.  Search Engine Optimization is not difficult, nor is search engine optimization relagated to the elite.  Anyone can do it – you don’t have to go to a search engine optimization service to get the most out of search engine optimization marketing – but it’s how well it is done that makes the difference.

Example – on one of my blogs, in a very competetive niche I am easily able to get into the first page through organic search results by using easy search engine optimization techniques.  Some of my pages are indexed almost immediately after I’ve made the blog post and within 1-2 days maximum I see them on the first page of results.

The keywords are not uncommon either – they are popular keywords and there is a lot of competition for them plus there are AdSense postings for those keywords.

I think that I am doing something right.

When you’re working towards search engine optimization, there are a few key things.

First off if you’re SEO’ing your blog – make use of the plugin called All In One SEO Pack – well worth it!  You can find it here http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/.

I won’t go into how to set-up All In One SEO Pack (remember SEO = Search Engine Optimization) there are a lot of tutorials out there for this plugin.

Some of the things you do have control over are on-page optimization – this is a very simple and successful SEO strategy.  But even before we head down that path lets look at what you want your SEO goals to be.  This will really define what you want out of your SEO efforts and will guide among other things keyword research to help you find the long-tail keywords or low-hanging fruit.

Lets pick a product – acai berry.

As you research your product, you will look at finding relavent keywords and you will prioritize those keywords.  For example if you come up with 50 keywords you want to prioritize those keywords and work around those keywords.  You DO NOT want to stuff your page with all 50 keywords, that won’t work and may get your site banned.

Next up is your domain name.  It is always beneficial to use the keywords as part of the domain.  So you could use something like:

  • acai berry scam
  • benefits of acai berry
  • Oprah acai berry
  • acai berry side effects
  • acai berry juice
  • acai berries

I highly recommend putting the research of a $60 billion company behind you (Google) by making use of this site https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal – but do other research as well.  For example, visit the top 10 sites for the various keywords and see what makes them tick.

Those keywords above – from the link above also.

Don’t limit yourself to Google (though it is the largest SE out there) use their results for various keywords and examine those sites META tags (more on meta tags later on).  You could even use their meta tags.

Do they have articles?  What are they writing about?  I hope you know where I am going with this…  It’s called MARKET RESEARCH.

Part of your SEO strategy will also be linking.  We’re talking about internal linking to other pages on your site using good keywords.  For example if you were writing about acai berries you could link to another article on your site about acai berry juice with the term acai berry juice as the text of the link.  This adds some juice (excuse the pun) to the linked page.

You also want to try and get inbound links – this is a topic that is a post all by itself and something I will post in the next day or so.

On page factors are next.  You always want to limit stuff like Flash/JavaScript and other types of technologies.  The acronym KISS (keep it simple stupid) wasn’t created for the hell of it.  Remember it, and remember it well KISS.  KISS.  KISS.  There – now I just may show up in the results when someone is searching for KISS the rock band.  :-)

There are off-page factors to consider as well, such as buying links and technology to consider such as the hosts reliability and how well they tackle SPAM.  If the site is known to send SPAM they could be blocked and any SEO efforts are wasted.

This post is getting towards 800 words so I’ll stop here and over the next few days we will go into a couple of topics:

  1. On-page search engine optimization
  2. Internal linking
  3. Link building

Tomorrow or the next day I’ll go into on-page search engine optimization and we’ll delve into the other topics over the next week.

Stay tuned!

Understanding Search Engine Optimization

RSS Feed Statistics

I’ve been using FeedBurner and the FeedSmith plug-in on several of my blogs to monitor my feeds. Yesterday I wanted to see what you would see if you were to access the feeds as they are redirected to FeedBurner (now Google FeedBurner) and was horrified to find that NONE of my feeds were up-to-date!!! Aaaack – how can that be? Sure enough when I use the GFB link my feeds are ancient.

So what to do?

Well first off, I got rid of FeedSmith and am not using FeedBurner – but then the question becomes how can you monitor your feeds to see what’s hot? Statistics are important for your websites they tell you what you’re doing right and hopefully an indication of what is wrong.

So I jumped into WordPress to look for a replacement stats package for feeds – now mind you, a few of the plugins that I use for visitor tracking and stats do indicate the number of users that access the feeds but that’s all they tell me. Not a lot of data to work with.

I installed two packages onto my blogs.

The first is called FeedStatistics by Christopher Finke – download from WordPress.org at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-feed-statistics/ and the second is called FeedStats where you can grab from http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/feedstats-de/.

Both developers provide great screen shots of their plugins, so it’s nice to see in advance what information will be presented.

In addition to their respective WordPress pages, Chris also documents and presents FeedStatistics on his website found at http://www.chrisfinke.com/wordpress/plugins/feed-statistics/.  FeedStats also has a plugin/author website however the content is all in German – if you can read German – great, visit at http://bueltge.de/wp-feedstats-de-plugin/171/.

While it may be nice for a 3rd party to track your statistics it is nice having the option of tracking your own statistics, so that you use the data however you want.

I’ve just installed both plugins on a few of my blogs to see how they perform and will report back in about a weeks time with some screen shots to let you know how well they do (or don’t perform).
