Are you a forum junkie?

So what exactly is a forum junkie?

I used to visit several dozen forums on a regular basis.  During lunch at work, I’d spend time on forums.  At thome, I’d spend time on forums.

I read all the posts that said you had to do things one way.  So I’d try it.

I’d buy what the guru was selling and apply it.  Several weeks later, when it didn’t work I’d go hunting for the next magic post that would really show me the way.

I spent a lot of time, money and energy on the forums when all I really needed was something that would give good information.

There is another site that gives out good information, his name is Aaron Brandon.  You should visit his site, and see what he has to offer.

Can I really blame the gurus?  No, not really.  I should have been smarter.  There are a few things that EVERYONE is interested in: sex and money.  Anything that promises instant riches sells, if this wasn’t the case then lotteries and casinos would not be popular.

So the gurus play on everyones desire to succeed, to be rich like them (many flog the big house they bought, or show off the fancy car they purchased).  They are giving everyone what they want.

I wish I had found sites likes James Brausch, and Aaron Brandon long ago.  I could have spent significantly less money and learned quite a bit more.

Today I hardly — actually, never visit the forums.  Any memberships I had to sites, I’ve cancelled.  I’ve scaled down the number of domains I own and cancelled several hosting accounts.  In all, I’ve probably saved myself several hundred dollars per month.

The best part is the information I can get from visiting the right sites is priceless and it’s free!
